About Us

We are a team of dynamic Breast Cancer survivors with a zest for life! We participate in the sport of dragon boat racing – an inclusive sport that’s suitable for anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability.

We paddle to support each other, to stay strong and to have heaps of fun doing it.

Pink Dragons was formed in 2005 to empower Breast Cancer survivors to take ownership for their health and wellbeing post treatment, through participation in the sport of dragon boating.

The ‘on water’ team consists of 20 paddlers, a caller, sweep and coach. We’re a fun, competitive team and are always keen to welcome new team members. Based in Auckland, we train twice a week at Westhaven pre & post Christmas, with an added Sunday session in the New Year as we prepare for the Regional and National regattas.

The paddling season starts in October and finishes in March each year.

Life is for Living – Actively

Our mission as members of the Pink Dragons is to promote the benefits of leading an active life after surviving Breast Cancer. Similarly, as survivors we strive to raise awareness of the benefits of early detection as the best form of prevention.

Kia kaha Pink Dragons!
