We aim to enter as many Regattas as possible during the season. It’s great training and experience as we build towards our Regional and National competitions that take place at the end of the season.

Held on Auckland Anniversary Day.

ADBA Auckland Regional Dragon Boat Championships
Held in March, all Auckland teams race for medals in their respective divisions. Teams from outside the region can also compete.
Lake Pupuke, Takapuna
NZDBA National Dragon Boat Championships
The pinnacle event of the season where teams from all across NZ (and sometimes abroad) come to compete for National honours.

ADBA Kai Iwi Training Camps
Takes place at the stunning Kai Iwi Lakes in Northland. An opportunity to participate in a weekend of dragon boat training and socialising with other teams. Always a fantastic weekend with lots of knowledge shared, new friends made and oodles of experience gained.

Other Events
During the season there is also the opportunity to attend other regional events such as Tauranga, Hamilton and Wellington Regattas.
IBCPC Participatory Dragon Boat Festival
This event is held every three – four years internationally and sees thousands of Breast Cancer paddlers from around the world congregate for an amazing display of Dragon Boating. In 2023 the festival was held on New Zealand shores, at the beautiful Lake Karapiro. In 2026 the Festival will be taking place at Aix-les-Bains in France.
